Manny Ramirez's contract looks so bloated now....

Is it possible that Manny's contract is so bloated that it's "off the table" when other players negotiate their contracts.

If Manny had stuck to 15 million a year, then Juan Gone could have lobbied for 15 million a year for himself.

But at 20 million a year, there is no way to compare other talent to Manny, who IS NOT a five tool player.

Manny is SOOOOOO off the charts, that the previous tried and true philosophy that each player that gets a new high contract sets the bar for ever increasing contracts for those who follow may have just collapsed like a house of cards.

Are we finally seeing the end of these ridiculous contracts?

Hope he's miserable. It's hard to believe that Moorad could only work out the deal he did for Juan.

Kaiser doesn't blame Shapiro for 'letting Juan go' when we could have had him so cheap. Who knew the owners would finally get some sense?

We offered arbitration sure that he would command a multi year, big contract. Juan would have recieved more in arbitration that what is being offered to him now.

It is odd that Juan will take a wimpy three year deal rather than a one year offer that could have paid him half of a three year deal!
